Deleting a contact from your phone contacts while there is an active chat will still show that chat but only the name of the contact will vanish , and if youdelete the chat the other person will still be able to messageyou while youcan block the contactand they woont be able to contactyou any further.
You can stop receiving WhatsApp messages, calls and status updates from certain contacts by blocking them. Search for or select the contactyou’d like to delete.
